A descriptive chart explaining passenger ship services network in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Tourists are often advised to secure their inter-island ferry tickets before booking their flights to Andaman from mainland India. This is due to the fact that shipping serves as a lifeline for both islanders and visitors to Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The archipelago stretches approximately 768 km from north to south in the middle of the Bay of Bengal, and out of its 573 islands, only 37 are inhabited, with shipping services provided for about 29 of these. It is also important to note that tourists are not allowed to visit many of these islands.
