Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island)

Neil Island is a secluded island in Andaman with clear water and sandy beaches. Neil Island is officially called as Shaheed Dweep. You can explore the following attractions in Neil Island:

Bharatpur Beach

If you are looking for a fun and lively beach in Neil Island, Bharatpur Beach is the place to go. It is only 500 meters away from the Neil Island Jetty and offers a range of water sports activities such as banana boat ride, snorkelling, jet ski ride etc. The beach has coral reefs in shallow water that are perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving. You can also unwind on the white sand and enjoy the view of the clear blue water. Bharatpur Beach has many resorts and restaurants nearby.

Laxmanpur Beach No. 1 & Sunset Point

At Laxmanpur Village of Neil Island in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, you can visit the stunning Laxmanpur Beach (No. 1) with its white sand and azure water. This beach is one of Neil Island’s finest and most popular destinations that you should not miss. The triangular shape of the beach gives you a panoramic view of the horizon. Laxmanpur Beach No. 2 & Natural Bridge 1 & 2

A natural wonder carved by the waves over time, the Natural Bridge in Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) has a gaping hole in its rock wall. The locals call it Howrah Bridge, after the famous bridge in West Bengal. Adventurers can hike from the main road to the bridge and marvel at the aquatic life in the clear water. The low tide reveals more of the underwater beauty. There are two Natural Bridges namely Natural Bridge 1 & Natural Bridge 2 near one another. Natural Bridges are located in a rocky beach near Laxmanpur Beach No. 2. It lies at a distance of about 2 Km away from the Neil Island Jetty.

Sitapur Beach

Sitapur Beach is located on the eastern coast of Neil Island and is approximately 5 Km from the main jetty. The beach is surrounded by lush green forests, and visitors can enjoy scenic views of the ocean and nearby islands. The beach is also a popular spot for watching the sunrise, as the eastern coast of Neil Island faces the Andaman Sea. The rocks in Sitapur beach are limestone & sandstone rocks that have been eroded by the tides over thousands of years creating an environment of fascinating natural beauty specially by means of colour and shape.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, visitors to Sitapur Beach can enjoy local cuisine and refreshments available from the small restaurants and cafes in this area.

Ramnagar Beach

At Ramnagar Village of Neil Island, you can find Ramnagar Beach, a serene and secluded beach with cobalt blue water, tranquil sea and golden sand. The beach has some sharp corals that make swimming challenging at some spots, but it has great snorkelling opportunities with abundant fish and corals. The easiest way to access the sea is from the Blue Sea Restaurant or the path near Deep Sea Resort on the main road. The beach also offers a stunning sunset view with no crowds. The beach is about 2 km from the jetty and you can get there by renting a 2-wheeler, taxi, bicycle, or auto rickshaw.
